Lore & Background

Hwaryun is a Guide, a rare type of being born from the Red Witches, a clan known for their red eyes and ability to perceive the 'paths' of fate within the Tower. Unlike regular Guides who assist Regulars in climbing, Hwaryun's vision extends to the grand scheme of the Tower's history, allowing her to see potential futures and manipulate events to achieve a desired outcome. She is deeply tied to FUG, the rebellious organization seeking to overthrow the current system, but her true loyalties often remain ambiguous, as she follows her own visions above all.

In Their Own Story

The air in Evankhell's Hell was thick with heat and ash. Hwaryun stood apart, her red eyes fixed on a point only she could see. A young Regular, battered and desperate, stumbled near her. She didn't offer comfort. Instead, she spoke in a low, clear voice: 'The path you seek is not straight. It bends through fire and blood. But if you walk it, you will find what you desire.' The Regular looked up, confused—but she had already turned away, her steps leaving no mark in the scorched stone.

Reader's Guide

Hwaryun is a Guide of the Red Witch clan, first appearing as a mysterious figure in the Crown Game. Her role is to guide key individuals, especially Baam, toward a future she alone can perceive. Initially serving FUG, she often acts as a puppet master, manipulating events from the shadows. Her powers include seeing paths, predicting outcomes, and limited combat skills, but her true strength lies in her knowledge and foresight. Key moments include her introduction, her guidance during the Workshop Battle, and her cryptic interactions with Baam and Rachel. She remains an enigma, her ultimate goal unknown.
